MEMO HOMIES: BEHIND THE CREW

In this BEHIND THE CREW feature, Network associate Nick Glenister provides us with an inside look at the Memorial Skatepark crew, a.k.a. the MEMO HOMIES. This article focuses on a part-by-part breakdown of Nick's recent video release, STOP STRESSING which showcases a multitude of local young underground rippers shredding the streets of San Diego. It's awesome to see that these dudes can really get down on the board outside the confines of the Memorial Skatepark, ripping just as hard as they do at their local stomping ground. Stop Stressing is a skateboarding video straight from the streets of San Diego. The video focuses on the Memo Homies; a crew based out of Memorial Skatepark located in Barrio Logan, San Diego. I filmed and edited the entire video. The video premiered at the hART Lounge downtown on 12-10-11.

We started filming for the video around December of 2010 but really didn't have any intention of making a full-length video. After the clips started stacking up, we decided the best thing to do was to edit all of our stuff together and put it out as one big project and from that idea came STOP STRESSING. The title comes from the stress that trying to film a trick causes skateboarders, and Memo Homies as a crew realize that it is best to just stop stressing and enjoy the good times skateboarding with good friends.
